ABOUT AMPERS
AMPERS (Association of Minnesota Public Educational Radio Stations) is an association of 17 independent community radio stations in Minnesota. Each station is locally managed and programmed by and for the local community it serves. The stations serve underserved populations including diverse communities, greater Minnesota, and students. Among other programs, AMPERS produces Minnesota Native News; MN90: Minnesota History in 90 Seconds; Native Lights: Where Indigenous Voices Shine; Beyond Active Duty, Purple Legacy and Disruptive Narratives.
The 17 AMPERS stations stretch from border to border and are all licensed to a college, school, university, Native American Tribe, or directly to the community. The stations include WTIP (Grand Marais/Grand Portage/Gunflint Trail), KAXE and KBXE (Grand Rapids, Bemidji, Brainerd), KSRQ (Thief River Falls), WDSE (Duluth/Superior), KVSC (St. Cloud), KFAI (Minneapolis/St. Paul), KMOJ (Minneapolis/St. Paul), KUOM “Radio K” (Minneapolis/St. Paul), KBEM “Jazz88” (Minneapolis/St. Paul), KMSU (Mankato/Austin), KQAL (Winona), KOJB (Leech Lake/Cass Lake), KBFT (Boise Forte/Nett Lake), and KKWE (White Earth/Callaway), WGZS (Fond du Lac/Cloquet), and KRPR (Rochester).
